Latour-Laguens (Qingdao) International Wine Co., Ltd. is the first purchase of a Bordeaux Winery by a Chinese firm in France. The winery is situated in the city of St. Martin du Puy and covers more than 100 hectares in the renowned Bordeaux region in the south of France. Latour-Laguens Winery Chataeu Latour-Laguens’ history extends back to the 15th century as the Renaissance flourished in Europe. The chateau’s design continues to mirror fashionable 15th century French architecture and reflect the history through which it has passed in its age-old stone structure, towers, and fourishing vineyards. Ronssard, the representative of the famous La Pléiade, greatly appreciated the pure quality and long-lasting taste of Latour-Laguens’ wine and soon made it a fashionable drink of noble estate.Later, as Napoleon’s armies swept across Europe in the 18th century, the owner of Chateau Latour-Laguens joined his ranks and later introduced the exquisite taste of Latour-Laguens wine to his superior. The emperor became immediately infatuated with this full-bodied wine and often visited the chateau to enjoy the fine drink. During the 19th century the owner of Chateau Latour-Laguens commemmorated Napolean by using his sillouette as the crest of his chateau. The winery continued to develop and in 2007 Latour-Laguens was introduced to China as a premium brand whose quality was evident in tradition and winemaking culture spanning more than six hundred years.
